whoami

Radio firmware and tools from Springfield, Oregon.

I'm Erik. I write firmware, USB drivers and SDR software, mostly to find out how far cheap hardware can be pushed. The main project right now is OrcSDR: a touchscreen SDR that runs entirely on an M5Stack Tab5.

the company

Oregon Radio Company logo: the Oregon state outline drawn as circuit traces around a snowy peak, fir trees and a green signal sky, with ORC in heavy letters and OREGON RADIO COMPANY beneath

"Orc" started as short for TheOrc, The Orchestrator, my first GitHub project to use the name. Then came the mascot, an orc, because people like mascots.

Later I formed the company. I live in Oregon, so it became Oregon Radio Company LLC. That spells ORC, and it stuck.
